Who Is Alessandro Costa?

Alessandro "Nono" Costa has been living this story longer than most people know. Born in Alenquer, Pará, Brazil. Raised in Manaus. He moved to Mexico at nineteen for a jiu-jitsu tournament and never left — not because the path was easy, but because he decided it was his. He worked as a gardener. A garbageman. He kept fighting. He became a LUX Fight League flyweight champion in Mexico, earned a contract on Dana White's Contender Series, and fought his way into the UFC the same way he does everything — by finishing people.

Three UFC wins. Three Performance of the Night bonuses. The man gets paid to be dangerous.

His most recent fight was April 4, 2026. Second-round knockout of Stewart Nicoll. Bonus check. Business as usual.

Nine days before June 6th, the call came again.

Short Notice. No Hesitation.

UFC Fight Night: Muhammad vs. Bonfim at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas needed a replacement at 130 pounds. Matt Schnell needed an opponent. These two were supposed to fight before — September 2024, a bout that fell apart days out when Costa was pulled from the card. That fight never got made. Until now.
